Pull the chain on the upper chamber to secure the filter. Place water in the lower chamber and mount the upper chamber after fitting the filter, ensuring it is centered and leak-free. Light the wick in the burner and heat the lower chamber over medium heat until the water approaches boiling. Press the upper chamber down onto the lower until it seats fully through the silicone opening; the water will rise to the upper chamber. Reduce heat slightly to prevent boiling. Add coffee and stir with the wooden spoon to ensure all grounds are immersed. After about 2½ minutes remove the burner and the coffee will begin to flow back into the lower chamber; stir in a circular motion during the drawdown. Remove the upper chamber and use the lower chamber to serve.
