Ayrıntı Yayınları Quest for Interest

Product description

It all depends on what we find interesting (if we find something interesting, of course) on what we have been trained and encouraged to find interesting, and also on what we find ourselves interested in despite ourselves.

In both senses - not only when we are children, but throughout our lives - we are partly in search of attention, because the reason for this is that it is not always clear what we want attention for and what we want to pay attention to: what is needed and what is needed attention in ourselves and outside of ourselves, and what we hope will result when we find the attention we are looking for contains uncertainties.

Adam phillips describes how the things we find interesting, our search for attention, shape our identity and our lives.

sheds light on the connections between interest, shame, self, and inattention.

what we care about, whether we direct or not, reveals what we are or are not.
