Ayrıntı Yayınları Watt

Product description

Watt is the second novel written by samuel beckett, one of the few writers who have left their mark on the century.

2. Although it was written during world war ii and beckett actively participated in the french resistance movement, it contains nothing related to the war.

so what's this novel about? With nothing! There is no plot (no events anyway)

if you say character, there are as many characters as you can count watts or mr. knott, that is, come on

if you are looking for bright sentences, joyce-like style disputes, we are sorry: namevcut. The icon-loving readers should also be warned in advance: beckett in the last sentence says that those looking for symbolic meaning in what i write should be left under the neck, be careful! So what? There's a guy called watt, he doesn't even know how to laugh, he walks like silent cinema comics, he speaks in a weird way. In a strange need for absolute certainty, he needs to name everything and himself

he needs to review all possible forms of execution of the most ordinary tasks (the idiom of giving food to a dog) in his mind and re-establish them in the most sensible way. The text is full of witty remarks and hilarious reasoning that may be enticing to some and very entertaining to others.

watt enters as a housekeeper for someone named bay knott, stays for a while, and then leaves.

that's the case.

from time to time, several grotesque people enter and exit the text.

that's all! What else

There is no one like him, a terrific black humor, a brutal display of what is called the nobility of the human species, especially the crudity of the human mind, there is also a language that we believe combines the extraordinarily lean and complex in an incredible way. A book that hurts while laughing. Indispensable for those who struggle with reading difficult texts...
