Hello, can we apply it directly to the skin to whiten the skin? Are there side effects?
Answer from Bioterra Organics
Hello Although lemon essential oil can show whitening and spot removing effects on the skin, it is definitely not recommended to apply it directly in its pure form. Because lemon oil is highly acidic and photosensitizing (sun-sensitive), it can cause irritation, redness, or blemishes when applied to the skin in its pure form. Usage Suggestion: Add 1 drop of lemon essential oil to 1 teaspoon of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil. Apply this mixture in the evening hours before going out in the sunlight. ☀️ During the day, sunscreen should be used to avoid skin stains.
