Book Adam the First

Product description

Don't rush me to know his story, before I left his apartment, which I went to imagining a stormy morning with him, I took his papers that he left on his desk, which he seemed to have finished shortly before his death. The surprise was that it was a novel. Youssef had never written a novel before. He was a poet who chased images in the streets, and meanings besieged him in the alleys, and he exaggerated in tying up ideas when he was alone, and Youssef was often alone, so what prompted him to write a novel? Perhaps this novel is his will in which he put his suffering and despair, his boredom, madness and delinquency, and his imaginations that had no limits. He put between its lines some of his personal biography, a lot of his professional story, and most of his confusion, anger, and impatience because of what he encountered in life. Youssef refused to let us spend New Year's Eve together, claiming that he had things he wanted to accomplish. In previous years, this night was ours alone. I decided to cut him off, to abandon him forever, but the child inside him disturbed my sleep and forced me to back down after I imagined him crying when he knew that I had cut off all contact between us. So I went to him to make up for what we had missed in the morning.
