Book Shalemartobar - رواية بقلم نورة عبدالله الطنيجي

Product description

Yaqoub was the youngest of three children, after three daughters. From childhood to adolescence, he accompanied his grandfather, Yaqoub the Elder, to the Friday market in the Emirate of Fujairah, where he developed a passion for the world of art, sculpture, ceramics, and colors. As he grew older, he specialized in fine arts abroad, despite his father's disapproval. Upon his return, he opened an antique shop and dedicated a section for engineering and contracting consultations, as well as drawing. He was successful in his business, but little did he know that his life would be turned upside down after he created a statue of a beautiful woman waving her hand! Overnight, Yaqoub saw the woman—the statue—waving her hand! Did he possess the ability to see things that others could not? Or was what he saw merely imagination and illusions with no basis in reality? What was the connection between his family's past and what was happening to him in the present? Could the statue be possessed by a jinn? And who was this woman? She is Shalimartobar, a genie from among the genie princes, descended from Tobar, the most ancient of the genie kings. He is Yaqoub, a human from among the most prestigious Arab families in terms of social standing. Can these two opposites ever meet in reality? Can a genie fall in love with a human? Or is Yaqoub suffering from a mental illness without realizing it? This novel offers no definitive answers to these questions. The author deliberately left the ending open, allowing a small window for imagination, leading the reader to believe in the existence of another world, only to then cast doubt on that belief. Given this, the novel presents us with another truth: not everything we see is real and tangible, and this applies to the novel as well.
