The bathroom is a vital part of the home, but it is often small, cluttered, and disorganized.

Okan Demirmay, one of our product developers, felt this problem.

So when he started working on the VOXNAN and BROGRUND bathroom accessories, his goal was to help make life in the bathroom easier.

The difficult part was finding common needs among different people.

This is where Okan enlisted many of his colleagues.

Okan invited many of his colleagues to a workshop.

Everyone had different homes and different living situations.

Some were Swedes living in forest homes.

Others were from Italy and France.

Some lived alone, others with spouses or children.

Working together to find common bathroom needs throughout a full day, they explored people's dreams and frustrations, including their own experiences.

One participant, Luca Battistelli, had worked for IKEA since 1992. Luca says: 'I am not an expert in product development,' he added: 'But you bring your own experience.

Some things can be very specific to a person or country, but it is easier to find common things than very different things.

' Designing small details that make life better.

Two designers worked together to solve the challenges identified in the workshop.

Arranging clutter and overcoming the problem of lack of space by hanging things.

Our towel holders already save space and are equipped with rotating bars, but they added bars that accommodate more items.

What about shared bathrooms? VOXNAN and BROGRUND have styles you can mix and match to make everyone happy.

The accessories are also equipped with matching wall mounts, so if your needs change or you want to change your style, you can easily swap things without making new holes.

Okan says: 'It's not a radical change.

' 'But it's small details that can help people turn bathroom clutter into harmony.

' What is stainless steel? Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives.

It's easy to see why it has so many uses

stainless steel is hard, durable, and has good corrosion resistance – meaning rust.

Stainless steel generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products, we mainly use nickel-free stainless steel.

Like many other metals, it can be recycled repeatedly to become new, highly durable items – without losing its valuable properties.

The process of designing the model: Adding a little harmony to the bathroom, time after time.

We have seen from our global home visits that most bathrooms are bad, shared, and improvised.

They are spaces – usually small – for getting ready during busy mornings and restless nights.

When we started working on VOXNAN and BROGRUND bathroom accessories, our team did something a little different and held a workshop.

Together, we came up with the theme of 'clutter and harmony' in the bathroom and used it to create products that make life in the bathroom a little easier for everyone.
