CAN Mathilda

Product description

Shelley's father, who also took on publishing duties, refused to publish the manuscript she had written, mathilda, in 1820, and the text was not published until long after the author's death, in 1959. So much so that even mary shelley, who lost her husband shortly after completing the novel, began to think that the text was unlucky. This short but striking novel tells the story of mathilda's short and tragic life, who lost her mother at birth, was abandoned by her father, and was raised by her cold-tempered aunt. All mathilda wants is a loving parent, but instead of that, after years of waiting, she sees a distorted love from her father who returned, driving her to madness. The novel conveys the struggle of a young girl who surpasses herself, overwhelmed by overwhelming emotions, with a desperate sadness.
