The lonely and dreamy narrator of the story meets a young girl named nastenka while walking the streets during the “white nights” of petersburg. Nastenka is just as lonely.
a friendship is born between them at their second meeting
nastenka tells him her life story: the young man she fell in love with went to moscow, saying he would return a year later, but he hasn't written a single letter even though a year has passed. Our hero is greatly affected by nastenka while listening to her, but hides his feelings.
only the xix. The white nights, written by dostoyevsky at the age of 27, is a tender and sad long story that envelops the reader, not the russian literature of the century, but one of the greatest writers of world literature.
it is both the “dream of a love that lasts four nights” and the story of a personality fragmentation.
