The Celestron Universal Barlow & T-Adapter can be used in three ways: 1. As a 2X Barlow for visual use: Insert any 1.25” eyepiece into the chamber to double the magnification. 2. As a prime focus T-adapter for photography: Unscrew the bottom section to remove the Barlow. Slide the chrome barrel into the telescope’s 1.25” focuser or adapter and lock it firmly. T-threads on the top of the adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately) designed for your DSLR or SLR camera. 3. As a “Barlowed” T-adapter for tele-extended photography: Use with the Barlow attached to the T-Adapter. This doubles the focal length and f/ratio of your telescope, resulting in an image twice the size of a prime focus image. Warning: Some telescopes, especially “fast” refractors and Newtonians, may not have enough focus travel to allow the photographic image to come to focus when used in prime focus mode. In these instances, adding the Barlow to the T-Adapter will allow the telescope to reach focus.

The Celestron Universal Barlow &
T-Adapter is three accessories in one! It can be used during visual observing to double the magnification of every 1.25” eyepiece you own.
The T-Adapter portion transforms your telescope into a giant telephoto lens for prime focus photography.
When used with the Barlow, it enables tele-extended photography, doubling the magnification of prime focus mode.
T-threads accept camera brand specific T-Ring (sold separately).
This 1.25” accessory can be used three ways: as a 2X Barlow for visual use, as a prime focus T-adapter, or as a “Barlowed” T-adapter for double the magnification and the benefit of extra inward focus travel.
Insert any 1.25” eyepiece into the chamber to enjoy double the magnification, while retaining all the eye relief of the inserted eyepiece.
The Celestron Universal Barlow &
T-Adapter can also be used for prime focus photography, using the telescope as a photographic lens.
Unscrew the bottom section to remove the Barlow and slide the chrome barrel into the telescope’s 1.25” focuser or adapter.
Lock it firmly in place with the focuser or adapter thumbscrew.
T-threads on the top of the adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately) designed to attach to the brand-specific mounting flange of your DSLR or SLR camera.
Some telescopes, especially “fast” refractors and Newtonians, may not have enough focus travel to allow the photographic image to come to focus when used in prime focus mode.
In these instances, adding the Barlow to the T-Adapter will allow the telescope to reach focus.
In “Tele-Extended” mode, the Barlow doubles the focal length and f/ratio of your telescope, resulting in an image on the sensor or film plane that is twice the size of a prime focus image.
Prime focus and tele-extended photography are popular for short exposure images of terrestrial objects as well as celestial objects like the Moon.
