darshion The Highest Horizon

Product description

The novel 'The Highest Horizon' by Saudi writer Fatima Abdul Hamid was recently published by Miskiliani Publishing House.

It is a novel woven by the fingers of a skilled weaver, combining wit and depth simultaneously, making us re-examine ourselves and our relationship with the only being rejected by all humans: the Angel of Death.

From the back cover: 'Suleiman discovers love late in his life.

His mother leaves him, then his wife, leaving only their shadows, which command him not to leave the balcony door open.

But he neglects their advice and leaves the balcony door open, only to find love in the form of a gentle shadow on the opposite balcony.

However, Death, who gave Suleiman a new chance to build the matchstick houses he had been deprived of since childhood, is the one who narrates his story of demolishing them one after another, from his highest horizon, mocking humanity and its persistence in a life that is, in reality, play and amusement.

The value of this work lies in its celebration of simple human details, the daily details that a person lives and that shape their features and humanity, away from grand concepts.

The narrator, Death, is merely a camera moving between places to convey to us what happens every day.

Does the reader truly need the resonance of major issues or the mask of history? Can't a part of life be understood by getting to know a lonely man on a balcony, who brightens every time a woman leaves his life?'
