Zülfü livaneli, the writer and thinker known for his sensitivity to social issues, this time delves into the fate of aegean fishermen and immigrants who have even been deprived of dreaming. Master writer livaneli, along with fisherman and son, has been telling the most heartbreaking and significant drama of recent years, "immigration," through the lens of the fisherman mustafa, mesude, and baby samir.
until that day, they were familiar with the bodies of dead people and half-dead babies watching the news on television in their warm homes, creating a bomb effect by falling right in the middle of their marriages
family relationships are taking on a completely different face. Fisherman and son tells a lot about the ecological destruction caused by companies targeting fish farms and beaches with the ambition of aegean history from ancient times to the present day. Beyond that, it focuses on the journey of immigrants towards an unknown destination, their struggles to survive, or even death
in short, it centers on their lives "close to the land, far from the world." Balıkçı ve oğlu, perhaps livaneli's most poetic novel, is a contemporary epic about family, love, parenthood, filial piety, women's solidarity, friendship, migration, and nature. Zülfü livaneli's new novel, fisherman and his son, which he wrote after a long break and was eagerly awaited, creates a vivid narrative in the reader's mind with expertly chosen depictions.
