İthaki Yayınları Blank Spaces

Product description

I'm drowning in the absolute void between who i am and who i want to be. "can you understand this?" on one side, halil, aysel, and oğuz, burdened with the weight of the past, are treading a tired path

on the other side, kenan, füsun, and neşe, carrying the legacy of this broken story with sorrow but hope for the future. Those who stay, those who leave, those who stray from the path of their homes, crowded squares

those who believe in the power to create a fair history, not the recurrence of history.

Following yaşamaklar (2021) and the award-winning duvarlar (2024) for the notre-dame de sion literature prize, caner almaz completes a trilogy that offers a window into our recent history with boşluklar: the story of a generation tested by love, friendship, solidarity, ideals, and betrayal, whose bitter hope is re-greened under the trees, pointing to a brand new future that begins where everything ends. Halil said, "wherever a person finds a space, a breath, not for their own kind, but for an animal, in the mountains or in the plains, he tells everything about how he treats the flower that has sprouted there, a tree." He said that a day that tortures an animal can also kill someone

it is very dangerous to deliberately harm a tree, a grass, or a flower that lives in its own state without guilt or sin.

why? Because it neither values life nor another life.

what's the difference between him and us, just because he doesn't move or talk? You're carrying a life too. He said, "you can't cut a tree just because you don't see it suffering, you can't uproot it from its root."

to put it simply, my daughter, there are people like this everywhere.
