summary:2017 atti̇lâ i̇lhan novel awardThe blind peninsula, imaginary but so real, overlooked but very close to the mainland.

an inversion of a familiar world with a self-absorbed, slow-moving life and established habits.

In his work, which was valued for the 2017 attilâ i̇lhan novel prize, hikmet hükümenoğlu creates a narrative in körburun, where the change over three generations does not occur rapidly, but step by step

most of the time without being noticed, and sometimes turning into an inevitable pressure. In this novel, where everyday, small sounds gain unexpected weight and ordinary life transforms into a pure sublimity, he offers a perspective that shows the larger patterns of life, starting from the limits of a geography.

“what happens if you pull that violet out of its soil and replant it in another soil? Of course, it is durable, violet, don't look at it as it looks like nazlı.

but it never blooms again.

its leaves become thick, like felt.

if you rough it too much when changing soil, the roots will rot.

i know the smell of this soil, i don't know how violets grow in other soil.

i wouldn't want to be buried in any other soil when i die.
