summary:“book 22 is the only war novel i've read that makes sense.” – harper lee “article 22, the greatest epic created by americans in the fight against fascism.” – kurt vonnegut “it’s been written in the last fifty years of two great american novels. One is article 22.” – stephen king “the tremendous success of madde 22 has shown that an outstanding literary work can indeed reach a very wide audience.” – anthony burgess “original. No one has read a book like this.” – norman mailer Ii.Joseph heller, who served as a bomber pilot in world war ii and saw how the military bureaucracy worked, transformed american literature with a book he wrote inspired by his experiences.Substance 22, one of the most important products of the literary tradition of humor and the antithesis of war, has become so popular that it overshadows its author and has become a part of american culture on its own. Yossarian, who served as a bomber pilot for the american army in italy and was furious because he was wanted to be killed by thousands of people he had never met, the main problem is the army that increases the number of flights needed to complete his military service every day.If yossarian makes any attempt to waive from the missions, he will get stuck in rule 22, which is a very funny rule: if someone is willing to do dangerous combat flights, it is considered that he has lost his mind, but if he makes an official application stating that he does not want to participate in the missions, it turns out that he is not crazy and thus he has to continue his mission. Since its publication, substance 22 has been considered one of the cornerstones of american literature, one of the most intriguing and most unusual books of history. The pinnacle of black humor in literature.
