Product description

“it is dostoevsky who has more than anyone else a share in the creation of modern prose, who has consolidated it and brought it to the level it is at today. "the novel ""the other"", written by james joyce when he was twenty-five years old, and the 1846 novel ""the other"" by fyodor mikhailovich dostoyevsky is considered a work that even today maintains its innovation and proclaims a tremendous literary power." The other, which vladimir nabokov, also known for his criticism of dostoyevsky, describes as a masterpiece, tells the story of the ninth-grade officer yakov petrovich golyadkin. Golyadkin, who suffers from constant anxiety and a lack of self-confidence, is a man who disappears in the broken sentences he forms, repeating his words.

if one day he meets this other, exactly like him, that is, little golyadkin, he's more rash, maybe more vicious and dishonest.

the inverted reflection in the mirror will confuse his delicate mind even more, while trying to get rid of the troubles that golyadkin's similar has opened up for him. For example: could it be that the other person is the only responsible for your troubles? In the other, dostoyevsky is perhaps pondering over that eternal dilemma: can you settle your accounts with yourself when things become really ugly?
