"good night. i am a cinderella without a prince. do you know where i am in tokyo? you will never see me again. one of the leading writers of japanese literature in the twentieth century, osamu dazai, who is also famous for his extraordinary life, brings to light the first works he wrote, ""student girl"", which made post-war japan's literary circles known. in this work, he writes about the twelve hours of a young girl living in the suburbs of tokyo with an ironic and skillful style. the short novel, which begins with the young girl, whose name is unknown, opening her eyes on one of the mornings she hates and ends at the moment she goes to bed at night, dazai combines the unease of the individual against the widespread social norms of a lost era with the first crises and nobility of youth. ""student girl"" is a classic that will allow you to see one of the first examples of the contrary personalities that will appear in many of dazai's later works and will allow you to look closely into the depths of the author's mind."
