Dough “looking at the completion in the title, it may be thought that i started this article like this with the intention of insulting someone's thought. Nope. By 'dog thoughts', i'm not getting into this with the intention of producing a portrait of dog-specific thoughts as a dog. Because i am aware of the challenges such an effort will leave us facing. Even the side-by-side placement of the words 'animal' and 'thought' can be considered sufficient to reveal what these challenges are. One of the words may smell insult

a difficulty may arise from the use of two concepts (dog and thought) together, which should not be brought together from the other. But let me say right off: by dog i mean directly, as an animal, the canine species. When i say dog-like thoughts, i'm trying to imagine how a dog, as itself, looks at the world in terms of the place it occupies in the world."
