Product description
Key Features Launched in 2013 Refresh yourself and the air around you with notes of pineapple, mandarin, and jasmine. Long-lasting and irresistible, it is truly enjoyable and delightful to wear. A composition that expresses the Lacoste spirit in a feminine fragrance that combines the distinctive sensuality and simplicity of delicate flowers and pure white cotton on the skin. Overview Born in 1904, the intelligent and elegant René Lacoste won his first tennis tournament at the age of 17 and at 20 won his first French Open. Not only tennis fans but the press were awash with his exemplary approach, anticipating a player of immense class. The international press commented: “He is focused when he plays, smiling when he leaves the court.” Inspired by his legendary doubles partner, Suzanne Lenglen, Lacoste learned to focus his energy and strength to produce more "spontaneous" movements and strokes, earning greater acclaim. In 1923, he earned the nickname: 'The Crocodile'. Why? A journalist heard about a bet on the crocodile bag—and the name stuck. Lacoste married another champion: Simone Thion de la Chaume, who won the British Girls' Amateur Golf Championship. The Lacoste couple must have needed a large shelf: with trophy after trophy and victory after victory for Lacoste—he had 10 Grand Slam titles at the French Open, including Forest Hill and Wimbledon. The always stylish sportsman asked his friend Robert George to design the crocodile logo for the white blazer—where the now-famous logo first appeared. That year, Lacoste became the world's No. 1 tennis player, after winning singles and doubles matches at the French Open and Wimbledon and taking the singles title at the US Open. He also pioneered the short-sleeved shirt, inspired by polo players, which allowed for much greater freedom of movement—a forerunner of the tennis attire we see on the court today. In 1933, Lacoste launched its first polo shirt campaign—now emblazoned with the crocodile logo. The rest is sportswear history. Eau de Lacoste, for example, evokes the feel of white cotton against the skin. It's fresh, elegant, and perfect for the modern, confident Lacoste woman. A classic formula, the fragrance opens with citrusy top notes of succulent white pineapple, harmonized with a heart of pure white flowers, plus sensual sandalwood and vanilla in its base. Quote from Lacoste: “This scent complements the elegant and feminine look of a sophisticated and elegant woman when going to a party – but revealing her smile reveals a playful touch. Her ideal fragrance is Eau de Lacoste Sensual, which “creates a chic and casual look with a soft touch reminiscent of a joyful evening.” The fragrance opens with the freshness of an evening breeze with bright and vibrant pink pepper and contrasting blackcurrant. Next, the scent of Eau de Lacoste Sensual transforms: it combines the clean elegance of Turkish rose with the delicate aroma of sweet pea and the innovative scent of gladiolus.
