Wash and dry your hands thoroughly; warming the finger may help increase blood flow. Insert the test strip into your meter. Use a lancet to prick the fingertip. Gently press and/or massage the fingertip until a round drop of blood forms. Align the test strip to the drop of blood and touch the strip to the edge of the drop. The meter will display the blood glucose level on the screen within seconds. Remove the used strip by its edges and clean the fingertip with an alcohol wipe.
