The orthez ort-369 reflex afo (ankle foot orthosis) is a static and dynamic walking orthosis specifically designed for patients experiencing foot drop (inability to lift the foot upwards) due to conditions such as stroke, peroneal nerve damage, or neurological disorders. its lightweight polypropylene body, manufactured using a specialized injection molding technology, effectively prevents the forefoot from dropping during the swing phase of gait (when stepping).

Thanks to its flexible back structure, it allows the natural cycle of steps, eliminating the risk of rubbing the toes on the ground, tripping and falling.due to its anatomical mold, there are two separate options right and left.

Featured features

• dynamic reflex and rebound effect: the thin and flexible achilles tendon structure is designed to store pressure during walking and gently propel the foot upwards (artificial dorsiflexion) with each step, making walking more natural with minimal effort.

• lightweight & ergonomic polypropylene body: its high-strength medical plastic construction won't add extra weight to the foot.  its ultra-thin design allows it to fit comfortably inside everyday lace-ups, sneakers, or boots.

• non-infectious soft calf pad: the inner surface, which comes into contact with the calf, is supported by a special sponge towel pad that is gentle on the skin, non-sweat-inducing, and breathable. it prevents friction and pressure pain during long walks.

• wide and strong hook and loop straps: wide medical velcro straps that go around the calf and ankle, allow the splint to be fully locked to the leg.  it will not slip, play or heel strike while in the shoe and walking.

• shapable foot plate :the foot plate bottom plate of the product can be modified by a millimeter by lightly trimming it from the ends with scissors according to the shoe structure and toe length of the patient.

• aesthetic structure not noticeable under clothes: it definitely creates a rough appearance under pant legs or socks.it gives the patient maximum self-confidence and independent movement opportunity in social life.

In what situations is it used?

In drop foot syndrome that develops due to peroneal nerve palsy, injury or trauma,

• in cases of ankle dorsiflexion (lifting up) weakness due to hemiplegia (partial paralysis), stroke, ms (multiple sclerosis) or als,

• in permanent/temporary developing foot drop following heavy operations or spinal injuries,

For patients who frequently trip or risk falling due to difficulty lifting their foot while walking, to ensure safe steps,

• to prevent shortening of the achilles tendon by keeping the ankle joint in a neutral angle.

How to choose size and orientation?

Please select your size based on your usual shoe size to ensure the reflex afo fits your foot and fits comfortably inside your shoes. this product is not symmetrical; therefore, be sure to correctly identify whether you need the right or left variant for the affected foot.

Cleaning and care instructions

You can easily clean the splint's plastic outer shell by wiping it down with a slightly damp, soapy cloth. be sure to keep the plastic part away from high heat sources, such as radiators or hair dryers.

You can remove the removable fabric pad located in the upper calf area by detaching it from the velcro.

• wash the removed fabric pad gently by hand in warm water not exceeding 30°c, using white soap.

• definitely do not wash in a washing machine, do not throw in a dryer and do not iron.leave to dry naturally at room temperature and put it back on the boot once completely dry.
