Ötüken Neşriyat Hunger

Product description

Some chapters of knut hamsun's first novel, hunger, were first published in ny jorddergi in 1888, without the author's name, and were printed as a book in 1890.

This effective and semi-autobiographic novel explores the depths of consciousness with frightening and gripping power through the unforgettable portrait of an unemployed young man whose starvation for success as a writer is fused with physical hunger, driven to the verge of self-destruct by forces beyond his control.

"this modern classic, created by the author by despising the novels of his time, stereotyped plots, and empty characters, in an attempt to ""describe the strange, unique states of the mind, the mysteries of the nerves in a hungry body"", marks an extraordinary break from western literature and humanistic traditions, similar to the works of dostoyevski." We are excited to present this great work, which has had a significant impact on european writers, in the turkish language of the great name of turkish literature, peyami safa.
