Apply petroleum jelly to the neck and ear area as a barrier to prevent the dye from reaching the skin. Apply the dye to the hair while avoiding the scalp; divide the hair into six equal sections, cover and wrap with a nylon bag. Leave the dye on the hair for two hours or until the desired color is reached, then wash the hair with lukewarm water carefully to avoid contact with skin or eyes. You can add yogurt and olive oil to the kermes to nourish the hair. Warning: may cause scalp irritation for some people; avoid eye contact as it may cause corneal inflammation.
