Isbn-10: 6056968075 Author: virginia woolf Translator: i̇lknur özdemir Published after the author ' s death in 1941, the behind the curtain is not only the last woolf novel, but also attracts attention in that it has traces of her depression, which has been aggravated in the days of the second world war. In the novel, which takes place in a mansion in the english countryside over the course of a single day, and the comedy it contains, we see life as a whole, with its ridiculous and serious aspects, passing through various periods of english history and literature. In her final masterpiece, virginia woolf's style reaches its most masterful, evasive, and authentic dimension. As we watch the preparations before and after the costume play staged to collect donations in the garden of the distinguished oliver family, as is the case every year, we also witness the complex relationships filled with friendship and love between the members of this noble family, and the differences between their inner and outer worlds. In woolf's final work, holding up a mirror to the english society of her time, class differences and gender issues remain as significant as ever. The show, which brings together players, spectators, villagers, and the elite in different layers, intertwines the past and the present, just like the characters' environments and inner worlds intertwine. Written with emotions that are inflamed on the eve of a war, the intercalated woolf is a challenge for the reader.
