What this product does: the mc200cm is a media converter designed to convert 1000base-sx fiber to 1000base-t copper cabling and vice versa.

designed for use with sc-type connector and multimode fiber cable, compatible with ieee802.3ab 1000base-t and ieee802.3z 1000base-sx standards, mc200cm.

the mc200cm supports the shortwave (sx) laser specification at a full wire-speed transmission rate, receiving and transmitting data at 850nm.

Other features of this module

The mc200cm can transmit over extended fiber optic distances of up to 550 meters using multi-mode fiber, and can be used either as a standalone device (requiring no chassis) or with tp-link's 19" system chassis. it features auto mdi/mdi-x for the tx port and status leds on the front panel.
