The ward of mentally ill patients in the provincial hospital where events took place was considered an allegory of tsarist russia. After reading and finishing the sixth ward, lenin, who said, “i felt like i was closed in that ward,” said that the story itself made him a revolutionary.

around philosophical discussions, the sixth ward, instead of fighting theft and injustice, brings stunning criticism to intellectuals who choose to turn a blind eye to them.

On one side of the debate, there is a mental patient with a high intellectual level, while on the other side, there is a physician who argues that it is irrelevant whether he is inside or outside the ward, because suffering is mental, and he gives a stoic cover to his indifference.

an extraordinary account of the effect of the sixth ward from which you can't get rid of for a long time.

with the beautiful turkish of hasan âli ediz.
