1. Cut the pipe to 3/4 inch, chamfer the end at a 90° angle, and smooth the burrs. 2. Clean the pipe and the inside of the socket with purple CPVC cleaner and let it sit for 30 seconds, then dry it. 3. Apply a thick layer of yellow CPVC adhesive to the pipe and the inside of the socket. 4. Insert the pipe all the way in, turn it a quarter turn, and let it sit for a minute to set. 5. Let it sit for two hours before turning on cold water—24 hours before hot water. 6. Tighten the nut by hand during maintenance. **Important:** Use only yellow CPVC adhesive. White PVC adhesive melts when heated.
