CAN Doktor Faustus

Product description

In the context of the given thought system, barbarism might be the opposite of culture

but outside of this thought system, the opposite of culture could be something else, or it might not be the opposite at all. In *doctor faustus*, considered thomas mann's magnum opus, he transports us to the tense world of adrian leverkühn, a disenchanted artist and composer. Even though his spirit is overflowing with the desire to create, leverkühn's tension, who cannot restrain his temperament away from rationality and sensuality, is the biggest obstacle in front of his creative power.

devil, le Verkühn captures this weak point: the price of escaping from a meaningless existence without the outpouring of a creative mind, forces the artist to fall into the clutches of a spiritual illness. However, the genius that evil can provide is a creativity, and in thomas mann's aesthetics, it represents the poisoning of the people with fascism.

This latest masterpiece by mann, who undoubtedly holds a place among the cults of world literature, can be read from different perspectives as an artist novel connected to the faust myth, a novel of an era or society, an experimental novel aiming to express music with language, or an essay on art theory spreading across all layers of epic narrative.
