From the book
Let the treasure hunters eagerly sift the soil... once, a pair of eyes on a mosaic that adorned the base of a grand house would gaze upon them wherever they went. the mosaic border decorations, still beneath the soil and saved from these three thieves, danced gracefully to the left and right. they would remain there for years until experts came to find them and place them in their rightful place in the museum.

Mosaic is an art and decoration technique made by putting together small pieces. you can use a wide variety of materials in this technique. for example, you can paste glass, stone or metal pieces on a flat surface in an orderly manner to create a picture or a harmonious image with appropriate colors. mosaics are used for decoration on walls, floors, pools, sculptures and many other surfaces. they were especially used in ancient times.

"it had been half an hour since they started touring the museum. just as they were leaving the first hall, everything went dark. it seemed that all the halls of the museum were in the same condition because there were no windows here. the exhibited works had never been used to prevent damage from sunlight. judging by the voices coming from the staff, there was a problem with the electricity. someone was shouting, ""the generator will now come into operation, please stay in your place."" the three children waiting behind the group were trying to understand what was happening by poking each other. they couldn't see anyone from where they were."
— what's going on? what's going on now? is the power really out? after saying that, he immediately threw his hand into his bag.
Çağla and laçin were waiting quietly where they were. the environment suddenly lit up with the lantern that yunus took out of his bag, but there was enough light to illuminate only their surroundings. the snoring of the other children in front of them was heard. they walked carefully to their side. however, neither the teacher nor anyone else was around. only a small group from ankara remained in the middle of the museum.

Unable to endure any longer, yunus called out to the child, who was still playing music.
— who are you, where did you come from?
The child looked at him with a smile, although the question was asked boldly, the anxiety in the tone was obvious.
"i hope i didn't scare you, i'm valens; my name means strong. i think my mother wanted me to be a strong soldier, but on the contrary, i always wanted to be a musician. i succeeded... i was born in zeugma, one of the richest and most beloved cities of the time i lived in. in the morning, you were there too, but it wasn't like it is now..."
— so, you were born in belkıs village, there, he asked laçin.
"that's right, you say so, now belkıs hill… no, i am zeugma. zeugma, the beautiful city founded by one of the generals of the great roman empire… in our language, it means ""bridge"". they called it a bridge because our city was established where the waters of the beautiful fırat are the shallowest. so we could go to the opposite banks whenever we wanted. those who lived there could also come to our city. the place you call belkıs hill was our center, and beautiful houses were built on the slopes descending from there to the bottom of the valley. we also had a huge temple, but now it is under the ground..."
***
Yunus, laçin, and çağla were all mesmerized by those eyes, captivated by their incredibly powerful gaze. it was as if they had experienced this scene before. all three began to slowly walk left and right from their spot. wherever they went, the gypsy girl followed them. they couldn't escape those eyes. like the mona lisa in da vinci's painting, she turned her gaze left and right, never missing a beat, as if she had been looking for centuries.
Three children were frozen where they stood.what a resemblance?
About the author:
Hello,
While i was studying at primary school, i decided to become an anthropologist. anthropology has many subfields, but i put paleoanthropology in my mind. because when i was a very little girl, my mother and i would visit archaeological sites, my mother was an archaeologist; she would tell me, and i would dream.
"one day, we went to the phaselis excavation site in antalya together. that's when i saw the sunken city under the sea, and i said, ""okay, i must be a paleoanthropologist working in archaeological excavations."" over the years, while doing this job that i loved so much, i started writing novels on the other hand, they were always historical novels. after that, i decided to write children's books that include archaeology and anthropology, so that all children like me can taste the mysterious, beautiful atmosphere of the excavation sites."
By the way, i'm i̇pek arman, and it's a pleasure to meet you.
