Everest Yayınları İlyada

Product description

The first encounter with the iliad, whatever the occasion, is an experience unique to each reader. The iliad offers its readers not only the power of homer's lines and the hero's joy, but also a joy that belongs to every person, every reader. In the iliad, the hero achilles, who is supposed to be the epitome of consistency, is depicted as a human being who, like all of us, can conflict with himself.

gods, heroes and people are all on the same field, as parties to an earthly and cosmic conflict. This ancient battle story, filled with the terror of blood and the sorrow of tears, has always been considered a masterpiece, the starting point of poetry, even of all literature. The details of this battle, which took place in anatolian lands, have become the main source of inspiration for all literary traditions. These lines, which have been read in different translations for over 2000 years, gain a flow worthy of the speed of war scenes in ermans' turkish, without neglecting the strange nature of homer's narrative, which can sometimes seem chilling. This work, enriched with a comprehensive introduction and a voluminous dictionary, is the culmination of years of dedicated effort. it offers a faithful and complete translation of homer's "word" (epic) into turkish, directly from the ancient greek.
