Product description

Author: Homer Publication Date: 2025 Category: Fiction Publisher: Note Number of Pages: 309 Format: Paperback Synopsis: The Odyssey is an epic poem branching off from the story of the Trojan War, those long, ancient wars that broke out between the armies of the Greek city-states and the armies of Troy and its allies from Asia Minor at that time. The reason for the war is what we mentioned in the story of the Iliad, when Paris, son of King Priam of Troy, came as a guest to King Menelaus of Sparta. He soon stole his wife and treasures and fled to Troy, thus breaking out a war that lasted for ten years until the Greek armies were able to storm the city thanks to the trick suggested by Odysseus, the hero of the Odyssey, which was the trick of the huge wooden horse in which an elite group of the bravest knights of the Greek army hid. This is mentioned in the story of the Trojan War.
