Product description
The blind owl appeared in 1977 from the asset publications in an unforgettable translation by behçet necatigil. This cult novel, which philippe soupault described as a “masterpiece in the decadent literature of the twentieth century”, and andre breton as “if there is such a thing as a masterpiece, this is it”, is also from necatigil’s translation, necatigil’s “preface” (“in turkish, the 75th anniversary of the birth of persian literature and literature.” Yıldız sadık hidayet”) and we present it with the “farewell” of bozorg alevi (“biography of sadık hidayet”). Tadimci: contemporary persian literature and birth of 75 in turkish. In his book, sâdık hidâyet behçet necatigil highlights an important deficiency in today's iranian literature, before sâdık hidâyet: there are no separate, small, useful books on contemporary world literatures for each nation at our disposal. These types of guides, which will be reviewed every five or ten years, would allow us to collectively see the final literature of every nation in a mirror of time from the beginning of the 20th century, and even the second half, to today. Such books, the translation of which into turkish by foreign literaries to be briefly introduced should also be shown, would make it possible for the reader to determine what he is reading and the place of that nation among other poets and writers. These guidebooks will collectively introduce foreign writers to their nation
The artist, who is occasionally seen in the translation of novels, stories, poems, and plays, would insulate himself from his surroundings and use it for evaluation purposes, thus closing and compensating for the fragmentation and abstraction in the introductions. Such books should also show an index related to the authors to be introduced and a ranking “translating into turkish” to be placed in the form of footnotes. This method would also prevent the unnecessary re-translation of some books that have been translated and are unknown to be available on the market. An effort similar to what i want to tell was implemented at remzi bookstore at some point. Under the general name of “collective views on world literature” and under the leadership of prof. sabri esad siyavuşgil, such a series of articles to be printed by university professors and lecturers began in 1944. However, i think it was left in four books (two of them: german literature and persian literature), whereas, for example, on the back cover of these two, 16 literatures were listed: italian, spanish, bulgarian, etc. Literatures. It is also true that these books were voluminous and of course filled with details, scientific, even dead books, as they took the literature of every nation from the beginning. Since now many contemporary works have been translated into turkish, i say that we need “contemporary” adjectives within the limits of and details only in very famous writers and poets, and also partly opened, “directional” reference books. From time to time there are anthologies. For example, the balkan peoples, except for greek literature, all have story anthologies in turkish. There are also sections at the beginning of these anthologies that introduce the author of the stories. These sections need to be brought to a unity, according to the author, by further broadening or narrowing them, to be collected in line with a literary history. Current, practical books, not an academic study
is what i want to say. Small, but serious manuals are necessary for the reader who gets lost in the translation frenzy.
